Are you having to 'spend less and be more productive' whilst trying to 'connect the dots'?

The Intelligence Management & Planning training programme is broken down into progressive stages which are taught as separate modules or as part of a complete process that builds on the acquired learning of each stage.

In the following stages, participants will learn how to:

  • Stage 1: Intelligence Strategy

  • Align an Intelligence Strategy with Intelligence Management & Planning obligations and requirements

  • Map real intelligence to a specific strategic objective

  • Avoid intelligence failure by developing a process-driven framework that 'connects the dots'

  • Define OSINT requirements within an All-Source capability and as part of the Intelligence Cycle

    Stage 2: Benchmarking & Best Practice

  • Benchmark internal operations against those of other organisations

  • Apply Intelligence Source Best Practices to an existing model of information collection, management and planning

  • Define effective management procedures for teams responsible for collection and analysis

  • Define a hierarchy of knowledge sharing within the organisation, respecting open, restricted and classified access

  • Align information integrity and security protocols

    Stage 3: Budgets

  • Make best-case and appropriate budgetary decisions, in line with strategic objectives and spending cuts

  • Provide cost benefits to the organisation by adopting COTS tools, freeware and open-source code software

    Stage 4: Planning

  • Mitigate risk associated with lack of skill sets and training

  • Use objective-based planning tools to handle resources more effectively

  • Effectively engage with stakeholders to understand end-user requirements

Programme Objectives:

Hawk ISM's Intelligence Management & Planning training programme advances and develops your ability to effectively manage and plan intelligence and source capabilities within the framework of a clearly defined Intelligence Strategy.

The programme is designed for managers and planners whose organisation firstly needs to become more productive but is limited in how much it can spend to do this and secondly needs to avoid intelligence failure by operating within a structured and integrated working environment.

The six primary objectives of the programme are to train people to align:

  • real intelligence with strategic goals;

  • best-practice to operational work-flows;

  • management procedures to effective teamwork;

  • information needs to budgetary restrictions;

  • skill sets to individual tasks;

  • and planning tools to resource efficiency

Hawk's intelligence validation model and quality control and assurance procedures are introduced as a benchmark for a client's own practices and practical exercises that test management and planning procedures within an Intelligence Strategy are given.
